Our natural soaps are made without any synthetic hardeners or preservatives. They contain beneficial oils and butters that need to be kept dry in order to last. When not in use, It's best to store them in a dry place with good air circulation. Avoid storing them in airtight containers. When next to the sink or in the shower, using a proper soap dish that allows for drainage is the best way to ensure your soap stays firm and lasts.

While our soaps are crafted with gentle, natural ingredients, they are not "tear-free." The pH of true soap, even natural soap, is different from that of your eyes and can cause a stinging sensation. It's important to remind children to keep the soap out of their eyes during bath time. When washing your face, keep the suds away from your eyes.

Most of our formulas produce pretty consistent results. The natural colorants we use can have a will of their own. Some of them are less predictable. Depending on heat, humidity, when herbs were harvested, etc., colors can vary even when we follow the exact same steps. But don’t worry, the action of the soap is the same.

Any order placed by Thursday night, I’ll ship on Friday. If I can, I’ll make a mid-week shipment as well. I also run into Green Bank on most Fridays if anyone wants to avoid shipping charges, we can arrange a meetup.

There are a couple things to consider regarding the longevity of natural skincare products.
Natural soaps are shelf stable for a very long time, but since I use only herbs and essential oils to scent our soaps, the scents can fade with time. I personally think they're best within 4 months of manufacture. They will be fine to use, but the scent might be mild. Natural colorants can change and fade with time as well.
Whipped tallow is going to be good for about 6 months - longer if you keep it in the refrigerator. I don't ship whipped tallow in the hot summer months, as there is no way to keep it from melting during transit. It would be fine to use, but it wouldn’t have the lovely whipped texture that we all love. It also might feel a little grainy if it melts and re-solidifies. You could always order that before it gets too hot and keep it in a cool place.
The Healing Balm should be good for about a year.
